FalconSocial is an advanced social media manager for enterprises

10-second breakdown:

FalconSocial is an advanced social media management tool with a focus on social marketing, customer service, social selling, social crisis management, recruiting & HR. Recommended for larger companies and agencies with multiple social media accounts and high volume content distribution.

FalconSocial is used in medium (51-1,000 employees) and enterprise companies (1,000+ employees).

The good:

Its engage feature is really powerful for managing communities and one of the more complex social media tools out there.

For big teams and agencies, the management feature is very well implemented. You have full control of all your social media activity and the way that your team handles it.

The user interface is really simple and easy to use.

I especially like the content pool feature, where everyone can add relevant content and make sure that you’re never at a loss for posts.

The bad:

The tool lacks integration with other popular networks, such as Instagram or Pinterest.

Facebook Ads integration would also be great. Also, once you publish a post on Facebook post, you can’t edit it and you can’t tag Facebook users or pages in posts straight from FalconSocial.

The listen function is not performing very well and definitely needs improving.

How it works:

As a social media management tool, FalconSocial is great for bigger teams and agencies. There are several user roles available –  admin, team leader, editor, content creator and moderator — allowing you to structure your teams however you want. Each role comes with its own permission level, for example admins have full control and can assign team leaders, or oversee an entire group or department.

Group users however you want, to create brand or project teams.

A cool feature is that you can see which team member made an edit or left a comment, when the change was made and why it was needed using an audit trail. Great for following brand guidelines.

While we’re on the management topic, you have other useful features worth mentioning, such as:

  • Geo-fencing
  • Task overview
  • Performance overview
  • Approval flow
  • CRM integration
  • HTTPS secure
  • Team notes

Onto social media marketing. The crucial monitoring feature comes under the form of live streams. You can monitor brand mentions across multiple social networks and accounts. An advanced data source feature monitors more than 4.8 million sources using a partnership with Gnip and other API aggregators.

You can have an in-depth look into certain terms using filters. Search queries can be fully customized thanks to boolean parameters and additional language settings.

Monitor multiple campaigns, by assigning queries, topics and project labels, with the project overview feature.

Data mining is another key feature, enabling you to cross-reference existing listening projects with trending topics by keyword, time or date. (You can check out more keyword data tools here.)

And, the feature that really impressed me – the sentiment indicator, a reflection of how topics are being discussed in millions of sources. All mentions are labeled as positive, negative, neutral or unknown, with 8 supported languages.

Next up, social engagement and community management. Manage all your messages from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and YouTube in one feed. Comment and message response can be assigned to particular teammates, and marked when resolved.

Now this is a really useful feature – you can route messages and comments to specific users or entire teams within your organization. These assignments can be forwarded to help desks, CRM systems and task management tools.

You can save time and energy by creating custom responses to popular questions or inquiries.

FalconSocial detects spam messages and labels them accordingly – really useful in social media. Potential spam is flagged based on blacklisted words, excessive formatting; or if the source has been previously banned or had posts deleted.

The sentiment indicator ensures that comments are automatically labeled as positive, negative, neutral, or unknown.

Bulk messaging is available. You can take action on multiple messages by marking them in bulk; then add the tag or select the action required.

Content marketers will be pleased to hear that FalconSocial comes with its own editorial calendar, where you can create, schedule and publish content to all your social media channels.

Two important mentions  – you can add geo-targeting parameters to your posts and preview to see how they will look in the social feed you are posting it to.

Content can be sent for approval to the admin or other editors prior to publishing to maintain quality and consistency.

The tool has its own URL shortener to maximize your reporting. On that note, FalconSocial offers unlimited reporting. You can create custom reports and by selecting metrics by channel, team performance, or benchmark, and export them as XLS, CSV, PDF, JPG, or PNG.

Cross-network analytics are available, allowing you to build a report by indicating a specific channel, metric and visualization. You can also measure content performance.

Other reporting features worth mentioning are:

  • Influencer scoring
  • Real-time performance
  • Google Analytics auto-tagging
  • Competitor benchmarks
  • Historical data

Interesting feature – FalconSocial’s Build product enables you to create your own Facebook Applications.

And that’s not all. They also have an employee advocacy app Inspire, that you can use to develop employee advocacy programs and, in turn, extend the viral reach of your social media content.

FalconSocial is a great choice for the social media management and marketing needs of an enterprise or an agency. It’s ideal for businesses who have multiple social media accounts to manage and a large volume of content to distribute.
